These instructions will work with wraparound style baby carriers
like the Didymos,
EllaRoo
Wrap, Girasol,
Kabuki,
and more.
The sling shown below is a 4.2 m #13 Girasol Wraparound baby carrier.
Fold
the fabric in half lengthwise.
Place the middle of the length of fabric at the middle of your
back and bring the ends around to the front of your body.
Cross
the fabric in front of your chest and bring each end over your shoulders
to your back.
Optional
You can create a nice resting place for your child's head by flipping
the shoulder fabric at this stage (see last picture).
Turn the fabric on your shoulder inside out, so that the hem that
was at your neck now lies on your upper arm.
Now
take the ends of fabric from behind your back, around your waist
to the front of your body.
Tie
a square knot in the front, at your waist.
You can now see the X across the front that will form your child's
seat. The legs are going to poke through the sides of the X (see
below).
Spread
the fabric under her bottom, first the inner part (as shown) . .
.
then
the outer part.
When you are done, the fabric will be spread so that the child
is supported from the knees to the middle/upper back.
The
flip made in the shoulder fabric in the earlier step has created
a nice place for the baby's head to rest.
The fabric at the shoulder can be spread across the shoulder cap
(as shown), or can sit on top of the shoulder, off of the arms.
