2. Put your left arm through the opening on the side away from the
tab. (If you want to wear the Maya Wrap Pouch on the other side
just switch all the rights and lefts.) Slide the Maya Wrap Pouch
over your head onto your right shoulder. The open edges (with the
stitching) should be near your neck. The folded edges should be
over your shoulder.

3. Position the Maya Wrap Pouch so that the tab and bottom seam
are near your navel. Hold your baby with your right arm and open
the Maya Wrap Pouch with your left hand. Place your baby in the
Maya Wrap Pouch so that your baby's bottom rests on the bottom seam
and your baby's head is on the right side.

4. For your comfort, be sure the Pouch fabric goes across your shoulder
and back . Start moving. Your baby enjoys motion. Walking around
will help you both adjust to your Pouch.
For very small babies
If your baby is "lost" down in the fabric there are several
things you can do:
1. Turn your baby around so that your baby's head is on your left
side. You can also adjust the position of the bottom seam so that
it is closer to baby's feet. The Maya Wrap Pouch is not as deep
when used this way so please be sure your baby is secure.
2. Put a towel or receiving blanket beneath your baby.
3. Wear a smaller size Maya Wrap Pouch.
Wearing your baby on your hip
Once your baby has head control you can wear your baby on your hip.
Put the Maya Wrap Pouch on with the bottom seam on your side. Lower
your baby into the Maya Wrap Pouch with your baby's legs straddling
you. Make sure the fabric is securely under your baby's bottom.
Then pull the remaining fabric up the baby's
back and under the baby's arms.
Wearing your baby on your back
Once your baby is securely in the Maya Wrap Pouch you may slide
the Maya Wrap Pouch and baby around to your back. Pay attention
to your baby's movements because it is possible to climb out of
the Maya Wrap Pouch. Bring your child back to the front if he/she
is trying to get out.
Other positions
As you become comfortable with your Maya Wrap Pouch and as your
baby grows you may prefer other positions such as sitting cross
legged.
Choosing the correct size
If it is difficult to get your baby in and out of your Maya
Wrap Pouch, it is probably too small. If your legs knock the baby
when you walk, then you need a smaller size.
Please contact
us if you need to exchange your Pouch for a different size.
Laundering
Your Maya Wrap Pouch is made of 100% cotton. It should be washed
in cold water and line dried. If you dry it in the drier it will
shrink about 1.5".
Please be careful
As with all brands of sling and pouch type baby carriers your child
is not tied in. Always pay attention to your child's security and
movements.
