Newborn Wrap Cross
Carry Instructions |
These instructions will work with wraparound style baby carriers
like the Didymos,
EllaRoo,
Girasol,
Kabuki,
Extra Long
Rebozo and more.
The sling shown below is a 4.2 m #00 Girasol Wraparound baby carrier.
 Fold
the fabric in half lengthwise.
Make sure that the opening of the fabric is facing up. This will
be where your baby will lie when the wrap is complete.
 Place
the middle of the length of fabric at the middle of your torso and
bring the ends around to the back of your body.
 Bring
the ends of the fabric up and across to the opposite shoulders.
Bring the ends over your shoulders to the front of your body.
 You
have now created the pocket where you will place the baby.
 Cradle
the baby in one arm and place her into the pocket.
 Bring
each end of fabric diagonally across the baby and around your waist
to your back.
 This
creates an X across the front of the baby, securing her against
your body.
It also creates head support for the newborn.
 Tie
the ends in a square knot behind your back.
The fabric at the shoulder can be spread across the shoulder cap
(as shown), or can sit on top of the shoulder, off of the arms.
