Many of us, as consumers, are concerned that our imported products are made in a fair and conscientious way. While we appreciate handmade products and crafts, we want to know that no one is suffering for our consumption.

As a company that imports many of our products, Peppermint has a particular interest in this issue. We routinely request documentation from our vendors that their products are being manufactured in a respectable manner. Sometimes we get some very nice pictures back that give us a peak into the process behind some of our gorgeous products.

Today I'd like to share with you several pictures of the making of the Girasol Wraparound Baby Carrier, which is hand-woven in Guatemala. Many thanks to Girasol, a German company, for sharing these with us. We are very proud to be supporting a traditional Guatemalan craft.

In our constant quest to find more beautiful and comfortable options for you to wear your baby, we have added two great options this month - one in each category:

~Beautiful - The TaylorMade Treasures Silk Baby Sling is the perfect solution for a special occasion, like weddings, parties, you name it! Six gorgeous colors to coordinate with any formal outfit.
~Comfortable - The Equanimity Baby Adjustable Fleece Pouch is super comfy for both baby and wearer. Just slip the simple sling on, and snuggle baby in the pouch. Couldn't be easier.
~For those in Europe, we have the Coorie fleece pouch, WAHM-made in the UK. While not adjustable, this pouch is just as cozy! (EU)

We are offering our newsletter readers 10% off of these baby carriers for the next two weeks (until January 25).

How are we doing? I like to hear and see how your slings are working out for you. If you get a spare moment in your busy, busy schedules, I would love a note and a picture.

If you like what you have read here, I would greatly appreciate it if you would forward this to a friend - or two!

Thanks for your support! And have a good month.

    ~Helping Others~
Last month, I asked for suggestions on how to help others. (Thank you for your responses! I will be posting updates in newsletters to come.) This month, I want to mention the good work that Toddy Eardley is doing in the UK. Toddy (shown here with her daughter Ariana, in an Ergo Baby Carrier) has set up a sling library to share with other parents. She graciously allows people to come to her home to try different slings and get a little advice, so that they may choose the proper sling from among so many. Thank you, Toddy!

    ~Do you like to write?~

If you like to write, and have a story to tell about baby wearing or helpful hints about how to use a particular carrier, we would love to hear from you! Have you mastered nursing in the sling? Are you an expert in hiking with baby? Let us know!
