 Many people choose to space their children within a
couple of years of each other. While this is convenient in
several ways (how many years do you really want to be changing
diapers??), it poses a challenge when trying to continue
wearing your toddler while pregnant.
Here is where my favorite type of baby carrier shines - the
wraparound, of course! The beauty of these carriers is that
they distribute the weight over so much of your body that
there are not any pressure points, including the belly. Any
wraparound will work, and they are so versatile that you can
change positions as your body changes. Here are two great
options:
If you want a really cush ride, try a stretchy wraparound
(as seen above). This works because the fabric is so soft
that it wraps over the belly, without constricting. We currently
offer the Moby Wrap, which is 100% cotton.
The second option is to avoid the belly. This works great
with any of the wraparounds that "give" rather than stretch,
e.g. EllaRoo Wrap, Girasol. The best position is the Rucksack,
which can be crossed over the chest (follow the link below
to see a picture), or brought straight down over the shoulders.
That's it! An elegant solution to a very common problem.
