The podaegi seems to have been traditionally
used as a strapless back carrier, shown below. We think that
using the straps over the shoulders makes this baby carrier
much more versatile. We now consider this style of carrier
an option for an entirely new group of people, including men
and small-chested women. The addition of the narrow-blanket
version expands the range of this style even more, making
it great for hot weather, portability, and toddlers who may
not be used to the snugness of the wide-blanket podaegi.
